East River Energy Commended on Quality Service by Customer

Guilford, CT – East River Energy President Don Herzog recognized two East River Energy employees Steve Sowka and technician Eric Duncan for their outstanding service. Mr. Herzog received a letter from a customer explaining a recent service emergency.

“I wanted you to know what a great job East River did on Sunday evening, February 16. My husband Michael and I noticed that we had no heat upstairs, even though the furnace was running and the circulator was functioning. We thought maybe a zone valve had gone. It was the day before the blizzard, when temps were near zero, so we knew there was no time to waste.

I put in a call to East River’s answering service, and within just a couple of minutes Steve Sowka returned my call. He contacted Eric Duncan, who promptly arrived at our house. Eric soon realized that we had frozen pipes.

He quickly went about determining the likely problem areas and diligently worked with us to warm the pipes. He was able to get the upstairs zone functioning again before any pipes split, and he made some excellent recommendations on what we need to do to avoid a repeat of this situation.

We feel fortunate to have received such excellent service and to have avoided disaster. If we hadn’t received help so quickly, we could have had serious damage to our house. As consumers, we are more than pleased to have East River as our oil company.

Not only was Eric’s service excellent, but his attitude was great, even though he was pulled away from his family at dinnertime on Sunday. I understand that he had even more calls after he left our house and didn’t get home until about 2 a.m. Thank you Eric, and thank you, East River Energy.”
