Guilford, CT – George
McQueeney, Service Manager at East River Energy in Guilford, recently was
honored at the National Association of Oil Heat Service Managers (NAOHSM)
Annual Conference and Trade Show by receiving the Service Manager of the
Year Award. The NAOHSM is the largest organization for oil heat in the
country. This year’s conference, held in Hershey, PA celebrated the
organization’s 50th year. There are approximately 1400 members or
associate members in the organization.

George began working in his
family’s oil business while in grammar school, helping on the oil truck
during snow days when he was off from school.
He started his first full
time job at 15 servicing oil burners during the summer months and
continued through high school and college. George holds a S7 contractors
license in CT and has his silver certificate. He has been a member of
NAOHSM and the New Haven chapter since 1978, and has held all offices in
the chapter including treasurer for the past 10 years. He is chairmen of
the education subsidy program for the New Haven chapter and has headed the
speaker’s program for many years. George is also a national director of
NAOHSM for the past 15 years.
The new technology director
of the Technical School Advisory Board for the Independent CT Petroleum
Association (ICPA), George is also the liason between the ICPA and the CT
Heating & Cooling Contractors Association. He is a member of the Advisory
Board for the CT School of Electronics HVAC department.
George has been the Service
Manager at East River Energy for 14 years and also holds the title of
Operations Manager. He is responsible for all equipment sales.
Recently, George completed
his second year as Killingworth Lions president. He was Lion of the Year
(1999-2000).
A resident of Killingworth,
George is married with two grown daughters and an eight month old
grandson.
